This Privacy Policy explains how MIRRA, a product of Dekina Beauty Limited ("Dekina Beauty", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use the MIRRA skin intelligence platform at mirra.dekinabeauty.com ("MIRRA", "the Service").

By using MIRRA, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use MIRRA:

• Account information — your name and email address when you create an account
• Skin scan images — photographs you submit for AI analysis. These are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers permanently
• Skin analysis results — scores, metrics, and AI-generated insights from your scans, stored locally on your device in your browser's localStorage
• Diary entries — notes, photos, and mood records you add to your skin diary, stored locally on your device
• Payment information — subscription and billing data processed by Paystack. We do not store card details — these are handled entirely by Paystack
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform, collected to improve the service

3. How we use your information

• To provide the MIRRA skin analysis service
• To personalise your product recommendations and skin forecasts
• To process your subscription payments via Paystack
• To send ritual reminders if you have enabled notifications
• To improve MIRRA's AI accuracy and product recommendations
• To comply with legal obligations

4. AI processing and your skin images

When you submit a photograph for analysis, the image is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for processing. The image is used solely to generate your skin report and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the duration of the API request. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

MIRRA does not use your skin images to train AI models. Your photographs remain yours.

5. Data storage

The majority of your MIRRA data — scan history, diary entries, routine records, and streak data — is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly share it.

Your account information (name, email, subscription plan) and payment records are stored on our secure servers in Nigeria.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Anthropic — AI processing for skin analysis (image data only, per-request)
• Paystack — payment processing for subscriptions
• Hostinger — website hosting and server infrastructure

All service providers are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your local data at any time from your Profile page
• Withdraw consent for notifications at any time

8. Data retention

We retain your account and payment records for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years after account closure as required by Nigerian financial regulations. Local data on your device persists until you clear it from your Profile page or clear your browser storage.

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. API keys are stored server-side and never exposed to your browser. Payment processing is handled entirely by Paystack's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.

MIRRA uses minimal cookies necessary for the service to function. See our Cookie Settings page for full details and your opt-out options.

11. Children

MIRRA is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately at info@dekinabeauty.com.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on MIRRA or by email. Your continued use of MIRRA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
