Data & AI Policy

How MIRRA uses artificial intelligence and handles your skin data

Last updated: March 2026 · Effective date: March 2026

Plain language summary: Your skin photos are analysed by Claude AI in real time and not stored permanently. Your scan results live on your device, not our servers. We never sell your data or use it to train AI models.

1. What AI powers MIRRA?

MIRRA uses Claude, a large language model developed by Anthropic, to analyse your skin photographs and generate personalised skin reports, VISRA forecasts, and product recommendations.

Claude is accessed via Anthropic's secure API. Anthropic is an AI safety company based in the United States. You can read Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

2. What happens to your skin photos?

When you submit a photo for analysis, the following happens:

  1. Your photo is captured in your browser
  2. It is sent encrypted (HTTPS) to our server at mirra.dekinabeauty.com/api/scan.php
  3. Our server forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis
  4. Claude analyses the image and returns a JSON skin report
  5. The report is sent back to your browser and saved to your device's localStorage
  6. The photo is not stored permanently on our server — it is held in memory only for the duration of the API call

Your photo never leaves the API request pipeline. It is not saved to a database, not logged to a file, and not accessible after the scan completes.

4. AI accuracy and limitations

MIRRA's AI analyses are probabilistic — they are generated by a machine learning model interpreting visual data and do not constitute clinical diagnosis.

  • Skin scores and metrics are indicative, not absolute measurements
  • Image quality, lighting, and camera angle affect analysis accuracy
  • MIRRA performs best with well-lit, front-facing photographs in natural light
  • Results may vary between scans of the same person taken under different conditions
  • MIRRA does not detect skin diseases, medical conditions, or pathologies

Always consult a qualified dermatologist for diagnosis or treatment of skin conditions.

5. AI training — your data is not used

Dekina Beauty does not use your photographs, scan results, or personal data to train AI models. Anthropic's API usage terms prohibit using customer data for model training without explicit consent. We have not given such consent.

Your skin data is yours. It is used only to generate your personal scan report and nothing else.

6. Biometric data

Facial photographs are considered biometric data under applicable data protection frameworks. We handle this data with the following protections:

  • Photos are transmitted over HTTPS encryption at all times
  • Photos are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of analysis
  • Photos are not shared with third parties except Anthropic for analysis purposes
  • You may delete all local data at any time from your Profile page

7. VISRA AI forecasts

VISRA generates skin forecasts by sending your scan history, ritual consistency data, and product usage patterns to Claude AI as text — no photograph is involved in VISRA processing. The forecast is generated as a written analysis and returned to your browser.

VISRA forecasts are projections based on your historical data and consistent use of your current routine. They are not guarantees of specific outcomes.

8. Data portability and deletion

You can export all your local MIRRA data at any time from your Profile page. The export includes your scan history, diary entries, streak data, and account information as a JSON file.

To request deletion of your server-side account data (email, plan, payment records), email info@dekinabeauty.com with the subject "Delete My Data".

9. Updates to this policy

As MIRRA evolves and as AI regulations develop, we may update this policy. We will notify you of significant changes. The AI models or providers we use may change — we will update this document if they do.

Questions about how MIRRA uses AI or your data? Email info@dekinabeauty.com — we aim to respond within 5 business days.
